Nobu Haihara: Canvas Prints, Canvas Print and Canvas Printing

The Artist

Nobu Haihara is an accomplished artist who has painted portraits, landscapes, and everyday items in whimsical and extremely realistic fashion. You won’t believe your eyes when you realize that some of these pieces are not photographs, but hand painted works or art! You can own one of these exquisite works for your very own as a canvas print.

Canvas Print

What is a canvas print? A canvas print is usually a digital photograph transferred to a giclee canvas material. This is not the same process that has been in existence for decades such as offset printing. Today’s technology uses large, format printers to reproduce photographers’ and artists’ creations into permanent, beautiful works of archival quality. Canvas printing is a technique that transfers digital photos of work onto a stretched canvas of almost any size. The process helps to retain your precious memories of giclee canvas art work for many years to come.

The Process

The process of making canvas prints is quite fast and painless with today’s technology. First the digital fine art giclee print is transferred onto a canvas size of your choosing. Next, the inkjet canvas is cut to order, stretched over a wooden frame, which is either glued or stapled. You may also choose to order a canvas without a frame. Another consideration to think about is whether you want your giclee canvas print to be gallery wrapped or museum wrapped. The gallery wrapped canvas allows the entire work to be viewed from the front surface only. The museum canvas wrapped method allows the work to wrap around to all four sides of the canvas frame. This eliminates the need for a formal frame.

Choices of Effects

Giclee Canvas prints can also be altered from the original when special effects are added. Black and white, sepia, applying test, focused, fading, splitting, colorizing, dark edging or cropping are other choices to make for your final canvas photo product. For a more drama, choose a black and white effect. Or try cropping to focus on one part of your photo or both. Maybe colorize your photos for more of an artistic flare. One could also add text to make calendars, post cards, or posters. To cover a large wall space, split the large photo into three separate pieces. The canvas prints could be vertically or horizontally hung. The final work will have a varnish sealant in a glossy, matte or satin finish to preserve the original art or photograph. There are endless possibilities today with fine art giclee printing. We can work with you to make a lasting memory of your work or ours.
